What Is Performance Marketing?
Performance marketing is advertising priced against a specific, measurable outcome — a form filled, a call booked, a sale completed — rather than a flat fee to sit in front of an audience. Every rupee spent is traceable to a result: a Google Search ad or a Meta lead form tells you exactly which click turned into an enquiry, which a print ad or a local hoarding never can.
For an Indian business specifically, that traceability matters even more because the alternative — paying for reach and hoping — is genuinely hard to justify against a channel where you can see the actual cost of a lead by Friday afternoon. Done without weekly review, though, a performance campaign is no better than an untracked one; the platform will keep charging for clicks that never convert if nobody's watching the number that counts.
