What Is Performance Marketing?
A newspaper insert announcing last year's batch results might get read by half the city, but it can't tell you which parent actually picked up the phone because of it. A Google Search ad or a Meta lead form can — down to the exact keyword or creative that produced the enquiry — because performance marketing is billed against something that actually happened: an enquiry submitted, a counselling call booked, a seat filled, not just an audience that saw the ad.
For a coaching institute specifically, that traceability matters because admission decisions are made in a short window every year, and there's no time to discover mid-season that a campaign isn't producing enrolments. Left unmanaged, a platform's own bidding will keep spending toward whatever looks efficient by a shallow metric while the number that actually matters — cost per enrolment, not cost per form-fill — quietly drifts the wrong way.
